CIR: Israeli occupation exploits Corona crisis, approves appropriation of Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque

Council on International Relations – Palestine (CIR) said the Israeli occupation has violated international law by expropriation of Palestinian land adjacent to the Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied West Bank city of Hebron using them for the benefit of Judaization projects under the pretext of expansion and development.

the council warned against exploiting the current coronavirus crisis in the world by the Israeli occupation to implement plans that it failed to do for decades.

Condemning this crime, the CIR affirmed that the Ibrahimi Mosque and its endowments are pure Islamic property that will not be changed by invalid decisions and that the Palestinian people and Muslims around the world will make every effort to abort it.

The Council was surprised by the Arab and Muslim silence towards these crimes against Islamic sanctities, adding: “What is happening today in Hebron will happen in the rest of the Islamic and Christian sanctities, if we accepted these crimes against our history and cultural heritage. We are all individuals and groups, factions and institutions required to do everything we can prevent it. ”

In its statement, the council warned of the danger of this step that could destabilize the region, noting that it is a prelude to implementing the rest of the plan that Israel intends to implement, with the encouragement of the extremist American administration, to annex the Palestinian territories in the West Bank.

The Council called on the international institutions, particularly UNESCO, to take all necessary measures to prevent this encroachment on Islamic sanctities and the rights of Muslims, warning at the same time of the danger of these steps in destabilizing the region.

Israeli government’s Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit yesterday approved the expropriation of Palestinian land adjacent to the Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
